There are a lot of myths when it comes to hair care. As we know this, we want to help you get to know your hair better and not be carried away by these popular myths. We selected four myths that we are sure you have heard before. Ready?

1 – Cutting the hair strengthens it and makes it grow faster

Cutting a hair with split-ends makes it look better, that is for sure. However, it does not strengthen the hair neither makes the hair grow faster. The hair fiber is composed of dead cells, therefore whatever we do to the hair fiber will not influence hair growth.

Nevertheless, it is beneficial to cut the hair ends every once in a while, especially if they are split to stop the tearing of the hair tip from being prolonged by the hair shaft and the whole hair becomes fragile.

2 – Washing your hair every day rots the hair root

The water from the hair wash does not penetrate the skin, where the hair root is implanted. In consequence, it is not possible that the water rots the hair root.

3 – Hair gets used to shampoo

Well, the truth is that the hair, as the skin, is not always constant. This means that as time goes by and circumstances change, so does our hair. Therefore, its needs may not be always the same, for instance, a shampoo that works perfectly during a cold winter, may leave the hair too heavy during the hot days in the summer. On the other hand, if your hair is dry and you choose a nourishing shampoo and hair routine, after some time you might start to get the feeling that the products are to heavy on your hair and that’s just because the hair is no longer so dry as it was before. So, it is time to adjustyour hair routine.

4 – Hair does not need sun protection

In fact, it does need sun protection. Especially if it is color-treated hair. All hair types can benefit from sun protection to preserve the color and the integrity of the hair fiber. Nowadays there are many hair care products with UV filters, developed to be applied exclusively on hair. Take your pick!
